Standard 8: Reflection and Continuous Growth
The teacher is a reflective practitioner who uses evidence to continually evaluate and adapt practice to meet the needs of each learner.
- A teacher can't be better without reflection and keep learning for growth. Teachers should engage themselves in professional development, reflect on the outcome of teaching strategies, and adjust teaching method based on feedback from students, colleague, parents, and community to become a effective teacher of their students.
Goal:
- Keep myself continue to learn and also keep track/record students' learning progress and feedback from the principal monthly and use these information to adjust my teaching pace and modify lesson plan.
Goal reflection:
- I value my class website as it is not only provide useful information for my students and parents but also provide me a feedback about what I and students have done by looking back. In this way, it helps me to motivate myself to keep adjust my teaching method so I can fit my students' learning needs.
- It is extremely important for a teacher to keep growth professionally. Without doing so, a teacher is just one who comes to school cover whatever listed on curriculum and ignore students' learning needs.

Evidence reflection:
- Every time when I attended a professional development meeting or training, I learned something new. It feels so great to keep yourself in knowledge and refreshed. I believe whatever who've learned from college will fade away as time goes if one does not keep growth. It would end up the teacher only go to school and cover whatever the district curriculum read. One cannot truly help students if he/she treat the position as educator as a "job." There are so many we need to learn or at least keep these knowledge fresh as a teacher. I believe a well developed professional training is valuable for all teachers, not only new teachers but also those teachers who has worked over 5 years.
